Adobe Muse and Business Catalyst

from Paul, March 27 2018

Adobe has announced the end of life for Adobe Muse (the software used to create our website) and Adobe Business Catalyst (the hosting service for our website) to be May 20 2019 and March 26 2020 respectively.

Prior to May 20 2018 (or at latest, March 25 2020), we will migrate our website to another provider and utilise different software to maintain the site. We will keep you informed of any changes as they occur, and we try to minimise any disruption to our site during the transition. More to come in coming months…

  1. Have you decided where to migrate to? I am in the same boat, I have 8 to 10 sites that I’m looking to migrate. Trying to research WordPress but not having much luck finding answers to my questions…

    1. I migrated to WordPress.com, a free hosted solution as opposed to WordPress.org being self hosting through a provider. My thinking was to recreate my site for free (initially) with WordPress.com to try it out and I used the Twenty Seventeen theme. Although it meant redoing my site (although I copied and pasted the text), there was more variety of widgets and features that meant a more modern look. A self hosting solution is available through WordPress.org, meaning more features are available and it is still in the back of my mind, e.g. through my ISP iiNet, there is a monthly charge of around AUD$15/month although WordPress.com offer a personal and business plan for around USD$5 to $10/month. The advantage of the self hosting was I could simply file transfer my site as well as used WordPress.org if I choose.
Overall, cheaper than the cost of Adobe Muse and Business Catalyst (BC), with more features available, which I why I suspect Adobe looked at retiring Muse and BC. If you have any other questions, let me know.
